Gloria is Our Community Champion.
Gloria is a founding member of the Grand Prairie Cinco de Mayo Celebration — which has awarded over 500,000 in college scholarships to hundreds of GPISD students — she is also the founder of the YES (Youth + Education = Success) Forum, dedicated to mentoring young women and connecting them with career and professional opportunities. She supports GPISD families through the Texas Education for Homeless Children and Youth Program via Noche de Navidad, providing food assistance and holiday gifts to children in need. Her service has been recognized with induction into the Grand Prairie Parks and Recreation Hall of Fame, Chamber of Commerce nominations for Citizen of the Year and Woman of the Year, the President Distinguished Leadership Award by the Grand Praire NAACP, and earned the President's Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe Biden. She has also served on the YMCA and Parkland Hospital Advisory Boards, as Chair of both the Building Advisory and Appeals Board and the Hispanic Association for Culture and Education, and with numerous other community organizations.
